Can I sort my JQL query by Workflow statuses as they appear in a Workflow?

Hi everybody,

Does anyone know if it is possible to sort JQL query by Workflow statuses in order of them appearing in a Workflow. For example, I have a Workflow that looks like this:

To Do -> Analyzing -> In Progress -> In Review -> Done

Rejected <- All

I'd like to sort my query to list all issues in a same order:

1. To Do. 2. Analyzing. 3. In Progress. 4. In Review. 5. Done. 6. Rejected.

I'd greatly appreciate any info on this subject.

Are you working with issues in a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project? While viewing the project look at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left to find that information.

If you are working with a Company Managed project then the sorting of issues by Status will be based on the ordering of those statuses globally, which is defined under Settings > Issues > Statuses

This ordering is applied globally, so if you change the ordering here it will affect all Company Managed projects.

Unfortunately this does not work. Clicking the arrows next to statuses results in no changes in the ordering for some statuses. Why is this?

Clicking the errors is supposed to help you reorder the statuses.

I personally have experienced issues where clicking the arrows next to some statuses did not seem to move them. In my case this occurred with statuses near the bottom of the list. I had posted about that here that you might find helpful:

An Atlassian Team member did respond to help me troubleshoot the issue. However when I did try it again a few days later the problem did not recur.

Somebody recently added a comment on that post about "hidden" statuses. I've not done anything to try to verify what they posted.
