Making a custom field to get more than one values from changes made on the same backlogcustom field

I have made two automation rules in Jira;

Rule 1: To auto-populate a custom field (which is muti select field) in backlog to all the subtasks under that backlog

Rule 2 : To auto-populate the custom field in the backlog to all linked issues in that backlog which has issue type = bug.

Issue : A bug might be linked with multiple backlogs, and all the values of that custom field in all the associated backlogs needs to be populated in the bug and their subtasks.

 

Add to existing values is not useful in this scenario.

Hi @Thinesh -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Would you please post images of both of your rules and of the audit log details showing the rule executions?  That will provide context for the community to offer suggestions.

And please describe the problem you are trying to solve?  The what and why (business need), not the how (what the rules do)?

Based on what you have described thus far, I predict these rules to be problematic as they could lead to recursive/endless execution.
