Need to automatically change status of an issue when its assigned.
Using cloud server.
Can we use Scriptrunner to do this?

You can do it with ScriptRunner with a Script Listener. When the assignee is modified you would use the transition APIĀ to perform the transition.

Use the 'Fast-track transition an issue' script listener with Scriptrunner. Pretty easy to set up.
