Migrate entire Jira and Confluence instance into another instance

Hi there,

Wondering if it's possible to migrate an entire Confluence and Jira space into another.

For context:

* Company A acquired Company B

* Company A and Company B have separate Atlassian instances (for Confluence and Jira)

* We would like to add the Company B Confluence content into the Company A Confluence

* We would like to add the Company B Jira content into the Company A Jira

I know we can do it individually (space by space, project by project) but it would be great if we can do it all at once.

You can use this app https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1231592/consolidate-jira-projects?tab=overview&hosting=cloud it will take from a few hours to a few days to complete the migration depending on the amount of the data. You just need to be the admin in both Jira instances and create projects into which you want the data to be moved

Hi Nic, I have seen many of your answers on JIRA questions and it was helpfull, thanks for the that.

I am facing the same situation,  My company has been acquired any another company and we have move our JIRA and Confluence to there account?

1) What is the right process for it? how long will it take to migrate?

2) Will it be easy if they acquired company already JIRA instance with them?

3) What is Jira Cloud Migration Assistant. What is there role in this?

For Confluence, yes, there is space export and import via XML - you can export a space from one Confluence, and, assuming that the space key is not already used in the target, import the whole thing.  You may need to fiddle with the user permissions.

Jira merges are a whole different affair, there's no export or simple import.  You'll need to think about using the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant, or CSV imports, or using other apps that might do migrations for you.
