Possibility to Automate and send JIRA Issue details in an Excel format through an Email

Hello Community,

I just want to understand if there is any possibility to achieve in sending the data through an email to certain users from JIRA automatically on daily basis (not through any third party apps) as an excel attachment?

If yes, kindly suggest the solution with the steps to proceed.

PS:- We are using JIRA Cloud and looking for a help to implement on our JIRA Cloud instance.

Hello @Praveen Teja,

While you don't have an explicit option to send emails with excel attachment, you can explore the option of filters and subscriptions, that comes out-of-the-box with Jira.

Run a search using JQL query to filter out the issues you'd need a report of and save it as a filer. Next to the filter's name, click on "details" and select "new subscription" option at the last. Create a personal subscription/ user group subscription and schedule it for everyday at the needed time. The users will receive an email in the stipulated time every day with the list of matching issues.

Short answer: no, that is not possible with built-in features of Jira Cloud.

To get an email attachment in such a format, you would either need a marketplace addon, or to build/implement your own solution by calling the REST API to pull and format the issue data.
