How to summarize time for a JQL query without a epic.

Hi all.

I'm trying to write a Jira automation rule that takes a JQL query, and sends a single value of how many hours worked in the past 7 days to a user.

I've seen quite a few examples of using an epic and the sum command, but i can't seem to work out how to do this just based on a user, as our team works across multiple epics every week.

The approach i was attempting was to use a variable to accumulate the time as it iterated over the issues, but that doesn't seem to work?

I was trying to do this in a custom value called totalTime, but I'm not really understanding what im doing.

Oh the intention is to post the time summary to slack, but that's the easy part after this.
