Integration - MS Dynamics CRM with Jira Issues and Confluence Wiki

Dear all, is it possible to connect MS Dynamics CRM with Jira Issues and Confluence Wiki.? A customer would like to save automatically the documents from his CRM in to the wiki and would also like to be able to follow progress of issues in JIRA on a dashboard in MS Dynamics CRM.

Hi Hákon,

There’s a plugging that connect Microsoft Dynamics to JIRA. You can find it on this link. Bear in mind third party plugins are not supported by Atlassian.

About the documents of Dynamics are automatically saved on Confluence, I believe it should be done from your CRM side. I mean, MS Dynamics should be the responsible for send it to Confluence. Maybe an Atlassian Expert might help you to develop a solution for it.

Hakon, a few questions, since this is a great idea but there are some things to think about, such as the deployment models, directory, sign-on, network considerations, etc. among other.

Where is your Atlassian JIRA/Confluence? Cloud, hosted server, on on-premise server?
Where is your MS Dynamics? On-premise or cloud?
What flavor of MS Dynamics (online professional or sales productivity)?
How is your user directory managed in your org currently? AD, LDAP, other flavor?
Do you have a Single sign-on solution currently serving your MS Dynamics or Atlassian servers? If so, what flavors (protocols); if not, do you want that (which is very logical).
If you have cloud-version of one application, and on-premise/server-version of another, there are definitely some network consideration here.
Do you have mobile users or VPNs that users access the different systems with?
Do you have multiple domains of users, and how many users?
How many users do you have on each system, and will all MS Dynamics users == Atlassian JIRA/Confluence users. If so, are your licenses large enough for this? If not, some considerations also in the integration.
Privacy and security. Should all Confluence / JIRA users see the data pushed/pulled from MS Dynamics? Dynamics data can be a mixed bag of confidentiality, so group management and provisioning needs to be carefully considered.
<there are other things for sure, but this is a good starting point.>

While quick "webhooks" integrations such as the one referenced by Renato seem like a great quick fix, we have learned by so many of our customers that it just plain isn't enough for their business processes. Deeper integrations that extend the workflow and engagement of the system users is core (is what we have learned).

All solutions will be in the cloud. No on-premises integration. This will be 5 pro seats and around 12 basic seats for the dynamics. In the first step.

All the data is open to everyone in the crm system and there are no limitations on the users regarding content.

Try the webhooks and see if it works for you! If not, then you will know to go to a managed hosted path or on-premise. With a small team such as you are describing, it might be perfect for now.

p.s.. You might still have some of these authentication considerations, but you won't know until you try it. And again, for small teams, this is usually less of a great concern or issue, honestly.
