Unable to add new 'status' in a workflow

We have a project workflow assigned to all projects within JIRA. I was trying to edit the workflow and add a new 'status' but it wouldn't allow me to do so. When I click on the 'Add Status', enter the new status and try to 'Add', the 'Add' button is disabled. Any steps to resolve this? Attached is the image. Edit Worflow-Add new status.PNG

Two things I can think of:

The status you are trying to enter, already exists in your workflow
The "Add" button is grayed out on mouse hover. This means that is clickable. Did you try to click it?
