hey there guys,
i wanted to ask how to do make my costumers tickets to delete (for good) after 30 days?
when a ticket is marked "Done" i want it to delete after 30 days
You can use automation for Jira, specifically the schedule rule and set it to run daily. You can use this JQL
Project =ABC AND status = "Done" and updated < -30d
Then set an action to delete the issue.
I would strongly encourage you not to delete issues. Once they’re gone they’re gone for good. History is always important especially when you’re dealing with customers. Is there some reason why you want to be deleted versus just a done resolve status?
i tried to do that, and for some reason no issues popped up in the JQL bar
Hi Eric - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
You can do as guided by @Prince Nyeche - ELFAPP - that should work well.
But I would caution you on deleting any issues in Jira. It is better to just leave them as Done so they are searchable in the future if needed. You can exclude Done issues from boards and filters so there's really no need to delete them.
i tried and what he gave me and no issues showed up
Most probably no ticket that fits that criteria at the moment, toggle the number of days to see the result you get. However deleting issues has no reverse buttons. Except you have some data privacy compliance that requires all reported tickets to be deleted after a certain number of days, it's better not to delete it in the first instance.
@Prince Nyeche - ELFAPPit worked thanks :P
If they contain sensitive information that needs to be removed from any / all systems after quick expiration... eg: Personal information.
@Martin Kirk , if this is the case then use automation as described by Prince in the accepted answer.
