How do I change an Epic's status from Done to In Progress?

Background

Some Epics on a project board are no longer appearing in the "left menu bar".

After some investigation, my theory is that the Epics are no longer appearing because the Epic Status has been set to Done (even though there are issues with a ToDo status associated with the Done Epic).

The following JQL query verified my assumption that the Epic was in a "Done" status:

project = FLERP AND "Epic Status" = Done AND type = Epic AND summary ~ "Blerp" ORDER BY summary ASC, priority DESC

I don't know how or why the Epic Status was updated to Done, but I'd like to change it back to "In Progress" so the epics once again appear in the left menu bar.

How would I do this?  There appears to be no obvious way.

Apparently it can be done through a bulk change
