Greetings, community!
The Atlassian Recommended indicator is once again being used and I wonder why. The existing post-ordering mechanism appears to be:
Once an Atlassian team member tags a post with Atlassian Recommended, it goes to the top, pinning it there, regardless of what the community considers better ideas through voting and acceptance.
In the past, I observed use of this indicator for better answers, or to halt discussion on "spirited conversation" threads, often followed by locking the thread to prevent further posts. That behavior led to follow-on threads asking why the conversation was halted. Using the indicator appears to have stopped a few years ago, letting customers share their thoughts in more active threads (i.e., vent a bit). I believe this approach helped in one recent case when the Status field was moved on the work item page, eventually pulling the head of product into the discussion to help resolve the challenge.
Would an Atlassian team member please help explain the indicator's usage? Thank you!
Kind regards,
Bill
