Everyone in my born city is calling me "Zavi" (taken from my surname "Zavadska"). I even had a nickname ceremony in Scouts so I think this one is pretty official :))
After moving to Prague I switched to "Niki" and then after moving to the UK it's "Nikki" which I go by right now.
Been a busy few weeks, finally catching up on some Community content.
Andy is technically a nickname, but the only people that call me Andrew are my parents. I switched schools in 3rd grade and there was an Andrew Goldstein in the class, so I became Andy Gladstone and it stuck. In 4th grade I was Andy Stripes because in 1987 my mother dressed me in striped shirts everyday.
More recently my local cycling club gave me the nickname Shakespeare for my poetic ride names on Strava. That one is a source of pride for me.

I do have a nickname. It means "Grass" in our language, named by my mom and everyone in my family calls me by that name only. That's also a reason why I find my nickname very dear to me!
When I was young I liked to read various books and came to one about Sherlock Holmes who used nickname Hollock created by first letters of lastname and last letters of first name.
I liked it so much I created nickname Domer which I used on portals, forums and when playing video games. My friends got used to it so I ended being Domer since those days.
Actually I just realized my nickname has over 30 years now. Quite a time. :D

I was named after Lauren Bacall but have never really liked any shortening of it that Aussies seem to love doing to everyone. Loz, Lozza, Lolly etc.
In my late teens/early twenties I had the nickname Scully. It was the height of X-Files popularity and with my red bob cut, I apparently looked like Dana Scully. Hard to be mad about that one. 😊 I still get it on occasion from older friends, but I think the similarity has well and truly faded after nearly 30 years.
