I met Andy Weir a few years ago, but have yet to read any of his books LOL. I did love the movie though and would like to actually read the book now.

I watched 'The Martian' and really enjoyed it. But for some reason, I have zero interest in 'Project Hail Mary'. At least that's the case for now. My fantasy self wants to read both books, but they're not my style so no sense in setting myself up for failure LOL.

Great idea @Amanda Barber!

It's so hard to choose amongst everything, but the thing that sticks in my head the most at the moment is the rewatch of Dune parts 1 and 2 that I just completed ahead of part 3 coming out in a few months.

I'm not sure why but I liked them both way more the second time around - and I liked them quite a lot the first time! Plus every time I think of the film series, I think of James Dyer on the Empire Movie Podcast saying "DUUUUUUUUUUNE!!" and it makes me chuckle.

Shame on me, I haven't seen any of the Dune movies. I know my husband is a big fan though!

@James O_Connor there's nothing like a good chuckle, that's for sure!

The first time I watched Dune part 1, I struggled to follow the story. I ended up stopping it not much more than 30 minutes in. I recently tuned in to the second half of Dune part 2 and was kind of mesmerized, so I sat down and watched parts 1 and 2 and I'm hooked! I'm so glad I got a second chance at those films.

I recall a classmate in high school who carried a copy of the paperback with him everywhere. I learned quickly not to get him involved in discussing the book. He was a bit of a fanatic :)

I watched it, and the movie is great, but the book is still the best for me. As you read, you can almost feel the sand of Arrakis beneath your feet 😆

@Amanda Barber you could always start with the old 80s David Lynch version - worth it for the sight of Sting dancing around in a codpiece at least 🤣

@Liz Nixon I know what you mean - I watched both parts at the cinema the first time around and enjoyed them more for the technical aspects than anything, I didn't really connect with the story. The second time around I was like "Ahhhh - NOW I get it!"

@Irena Śliwa Shamefully I've never read the book, even though I'm a big sci-fi nerd. It's always been too daunting for some reason. I'll have to give it a go!

We're finally starting the final season of The Bear which we have LOVED...sad it's ending, but also love when a series ends before it gets awful.

We also just watched season 1 of Pluribus and enjoyed that. 

My teenager is loving anything from A24 Films lately.
