Request Blocked VI: Any gamers here?

Very serious Monday matter.

GTA VI pre-orders are live, and my request has officially entered the “blocked” stage at home.

Request details:
- Budget: under $100
- Justification: historic gaming moment
- Expected outcome: instant approval
- Actual outcome: request blocked

So naturally, I did what any reasonable person would do…

Made myself a dramatic poster for it 😄

Jokes apart, this made me curious — how many Atlassian Community folks here are gamers?

What are you playing right now? And what game are you currently trying to justify buying next?

Honestly, I probably know the San Andreas map better than my own city, so this approval request is not just emotional — it is personal 😂

I'm was an active gamer most of my life, but now in my 30s I can't find that free time so easily anymore. I finished Disco Elysium recently and it was great.

Haha PTO approval for GTA VI launch week might be a bigger challenge than the game itself 😂

And yes, same here. Gaming was such a big part of life earlier, but finding that free time now is the real boss fight.

I know people will judge me now, but I was never a big fan of GTA 🫣
Okay, San Andreas was neat, but someone got me GTA V and I never finished it, hah

But I was an extreme gamer before. During my gamer years, I was mainly playing DarkOrbit. When I switched to single-player games, I'd say the best ones are/were God of War and Horizon (Zero Dawn and Forbidden West). 🎮

For GoW Laufey and Horizon 3, I might just take a couple of days off, bunker myself in a house, order pizzas and game all day 😆

San Andreas is still my personal favourite too. GTA V is good, no doubt, but San Andreas just hits differently. The map, the missions, the radio, the whole vibe — that one has a permanent place in memory.

And full respect for God of War. That’s not just a game, that’s an experience.

Honestly, taking a couple of days off, ordering pizza, and disappearing into a game sounds like the proper adult version of a gaming vacation 😂
