Good morning, happy Monday, and welcome to another new week Atlassian Community!
July has been designated as Likes 4 Trees month in the community, and we can affect the planting of 50,000 trees by liking content in the community this month. You can read about all of the details in @Monique vdB's post here.
Liking content on the community is an easy process, and reinforces the contributions of community members new and old alike. It's a quick shot of dopamine that can motivate an author or commenter to keep coming back and contributing. You don't even have to subscribe when smashing the like button!
Over the four Mondays in July, I'll be posting a discussion here in The Watercooler that will gather content for community users to come and like, helping us along the journey of planting 50K oxygen producing wonders of nature, which as of this posting we have already planted 38,012!
As you can see in the like meter above, the first two posts in this series generated 1660 likes! Let's see if we can break the 2,200 number with this third post in the series!!!

Have a great week, I can't wait to post another discussion next Monday and see how many more trees have been planted by then! We are in the home stretch, and just like the image above our impact has grown exponentially.
Love the family photo! Looks amazing!
To be very honest, thanks to the beautiful weather and the redesign of our backyard early on this year, I am enjoying home so much this year:
It has turned into a place where I have had my home office large parts of the day; where I can grab a cocktail to close out at the end of the workday, invite friends and experiment on the BBQ. It has been a haven and a little piece of h(e)aven over the last couple of months that is always very nice to come back to after travelling to Atlassian events or just commuting to the office or a customer ...
@Walter Buggenhout Dude! A Big Green Egg! I am looking forward to moving into our house this week and getting a new Egg now that we are back in the states. Used ours a ton before moving to Dubai.
Oh wow, this looks so peaceful! 🧡
And as an apartment person, I really envy that Green Egg! 🙈
Ok. Friday afternoon get-together in Walter's backyard. 😎🍹
Well yes, @John Funk! I got it quite recently, but the 🥚 and me have gotten pretty good friends quite quickly ... I'm cooking outside more or less every other day now 👌
It is, @Laurie Sciutti! In winter times we usually go skiing with the family and some of our best friends. Lost my heart to the mountains too, I guess - and then, Aperol is usually our go to drink when we get off the slopes. And it works pretty well in summer too 🍹
I love this topic! 😍 Here are a few of my personal favorites:
🏡 My home - Nothing beats your own safe space, right? It's where I recharge, unwind, and have way too many mugs for one person.
After a long workday or a busy week, there's nothing better than coming back, lighting a candle and getting under a blanket with a good show (or let's be real, a random Netflix series rabbit hole). It's filled with little things that make me happy - my books, my craft supplies, my plants that somehow survived another week. It's where I dance around to music in my PJs, plan new adventures, and occasionally have deep life talks with my coffee machine. Wouldn't trade it for anything ❤️
🌴 Tenerife - I've been there six or seven times already (lost count!) and I still get excited every single time.
The whole island has this magical mix of volcanic landscapes, black sand beaches, cozy villages, and buzzing beach towns. I love heading up to Mount Teide, watching the clouds below, or taking the ferry to La Gomera for that slow, soulful pace of life. It just has this rhythm that makes you breathe differently - deeper, calmer ☀️ Can't wait to go back soon!
🍷 Tuscany - Last year's road trip was pure perfection. Winding roads, vineyards stretching out like paintings, golden light bouncing off stone houses, and food that made me consider abandoning my entire life to open a little café in a village with 300 people. It was beautiful!
🌊 Rhodes - Went with friends last year and it was a dream. Stunning beaches, crystal clear water, and the old town felt like walking through a medieval fairytale.
It's the kind of place where you just keep saying “wow” a lot and take way too many photos you'll never delete.
🌻 My parents' place - Their garden is my personal Zen zone. I go for a short stroll and next thing I know, I've accidentally fallen asleep on their couch. Works every time 💛
Now I want to book five different trips and take a nap at the same time 😅💤
Great topic! I wonder if there will even be any likes left by next Monday? We're cruising right along in this month's mission!
Like @Walter Buggenhout - I'd have to say my backyard on a breezy, cooler summer day (like today!) We have this great pergola that allows closing/opening the slats depending on the sun. This is an older picture, but it's in a similar state this summer!
I had to pick a photo on my phone, so here are my nephew and I on the Tron ride at Disneyworld Magic Kingdom—one of my most likable places.
I love this topic, Andy! Some of my most likeable places: the street where I live (pictured: my neighbor's roses), Iceland (where I was earlier this month), Amsterdam (my home away from home), and Los Angeles (pictured: my parents' pool).

I'll comment today, but like tomorrow (I already hit my 100 for the day).
@Monique vdB your smile does not just light up a room, it lights up the atmosphere. I second @Amanda Barber that these are OBVS your happy places!
I just realized all my photos have me wearing sunglasses... fun fact: I do also have eyes!
The Outer Banks was my most likeable place. My family had an oceanfront cottage in Southern Shores, and we would vacation there in August. This was before things exploded there and is now way overrun by McMansion-style houses and tourists. North of our cottage is the town of Corolla, where there are still wild horses on the beach, descended from Spanish mustangs that evolved into a unique breed called Banker horses. Back in the '60s and '70s and early '80s, you could even spot them all through the Outer Banks, even inland from the beaches.
The 1st picture is sunrise over the Atlantic, taken from what used to be our little deck on the sand dune. I laid down on my tummy to get this shot. Sigh, how I loved sipping my coffee early in the mornings up there.
The 2nd picture is the back (west side) of our old cottage. It was a flat top cottage, designed by artist Frank Stick. There were clusters of this style of cottage in Southern Shores, where Stick obtained land in 1947. These flat tops were built both oceanfront and "inland", with oceanfront cottages located both up close to the beach and farther back, below the sand dune. Ours was the latter, which made for excellent coverage from hurricanes.
My family sold the cottage about 7 years ago, unfortunately knowing that it would be torn down and replaced by a McMansion. Another piece of history knocked down. But the memories!!! 🧡🧡
I love the OBX. Family has been going there for over 40 years as a vacation/reunion. I agree, certain parts have lost its charm. There used to be such a serene feeling even in Kill Devil Hills before it was developed fully.
I still love visiting every year or taking a quick trip down if the weekend is light on plans. Awful Arthursssss.
I started going more often in September, after the summer vacation peeps left. Reminded me of my childhood days there.
Oh, here's another one! This is inside Puccini Bomboni in Amsterdam. Literally the most incredible chocolate shop I've ever visited, with the most amazing chocolate. I made two trips here and still smile when I think about it.
That's me, nearly overwhelmed by the beauty and the smell, trying to make my first selections.
When I lived in The Netherlands, I was expected to bring a 1/2 Kilo box of Belgian chocolate for each of my siblings and my parents every time I came home to visit. My brother could finish the box in about an hour—I'm not sure his wife ever got a piece. 😀
@Elizabeth Nixon I love Puccini Bomboni! I still think about their Earl Grey truffle. And the Outer Banks looks amazing.
