I've seen photos of the Crooked Forest before, but I had no idea it was in Poland! It's one of those places that almost doesn't look real.

I am Flora-Kali, the destroyer of any plant including cacti (plural). My supervisor (the cat), however, *loves* one plant, which is yet another LA transplant, named the salgo palm. I call it spider palm b/c it is like a damn spider condominium. Prince is not an outdoor cat but I let him hangout in our courtyard so he can get some fresh air sometimes. No matter what I do, that bulbous potato-shaped moron's first plan of action? Immediate Truffle Shuffle over to spider plant. One time I told him to get away from it; he locked eyes with me, established dominance, and rubbed his face and body all over the salgo palm, never once breaking eye contact.

Fun fact: The salgo palm? It's a cat poison extraordinaire. I rent so I cannot get rid of spider bush. His murder-poison palm love knows no bounds, despite my efforts. The ASPCA CDC know us by name. basically saying, whelp, we're into our 9th year of these calls from you and he seems fine. Good luck with your, uh, very special little man. To alleviate anyone's concerns, his vet confirmed the CDC support person's insights and l confirmed his 9-yr salgo palm relationship, if it had been working out so far, was not concerning. "It's just... weird."

Thus, I have no plant that is my favorite. But I can pinch hit my cat who would sell state secrets for the salgo palm in our courtyard that can kill him.

These are actual things I've said to him.

I never wanted kids. Instead, I got a 25lb/12kg land porpoise that eats spicy pork rinds, rolls in bug spray, and maintains unbreaking eye contact with me as he eats a sock fuzzy.

(NOTE: Yes, he's chunky. The Science Diet Perfect Weight wet/dry formula his vet prescribed has him 2 lbs down... since 2014. No, he's not allowed to eat any of the above. He is just a special, special little boy.)
