Happy Feel Good Friday, Atlassian Community!

Today's prompt gives you a moment to reflect on yourself and maybe even pass along a feel good moment to someone you know.

What is the biggest compliment you could receive?

With that in mind, go give someone a complimentary compliment!

The biggest compliment I've ever received was when an engineer at my company called me on a Monday (from another country) and said, "I installed the software and configured the customer's entire system over the weekend using only your documentation. Thank you for being so clear and thorough."

It made my year!

Last year, I got feedback from a client side and one of their tribe leads who was working with me/us on digital transformation in their environment that I'm "killing it" (in context of doing a good job)
He was/is one of the key stakeholders there, and he knew the most about Jira out of all of them. It was actually a great recognition of the work we/I did over the past couple of months. 🙌

Unfortunately, this is something that people don't hear or say that often, and yet it can make someone's day/week/month 😊 (now that I'm writing this, I might give some positive remarks to some of my teammates as well :)

I'm going to pass it back to you @Amanda Barber - What is the biggest compliment you could receive?

First, I wrote a really important email yesterday and after I hit send, my first thought was "Shoot, I used Compliment instead on Complement". So @Amanda Barber this post is on point more than you anticipated!

I'm happy that I have received enough compliments that I cannot remember which was the biggest, but I do have one that stands out at the moment. When I left my previous company (10 years ago in a month), the office I was based in held a goodbye party. I had been there for over 10 years and had a real human connection with all of my co-workers. One of the company VP's stood up and said that he never received an email from me, or an Excel spreadsheet, that was not perfectly formatted and error free. That gave me a sense of pride - being recognized for the effort I put in to professional communication and trying to set an example for my peers.

I guess this recent compliment/complement mistake shows that the years have not been generous to me!

Wowzers, what timing for this post! Thank you for sharing your example - it's always wonderful to be recognized for the effort you put in - no matter how big or small! Quality writing can be hard to find these days, so I think that's a worthy compliment indeed!
