How to update Trello Card Layout on board?

alli.kellner July 30, 2019

Is there an option to update the card layout as it is displayed on the Trello board? I am looking to add a value of "Last Updated" on the card layout so you can see if someone has updated the card recently from the board. Thoughts?

@Katrin Anger thanks so much for the info and feedback! I had a feeling that a customization or add-on would be needed in order to achieve this display. I will see if the Custom Fields and Power-Up are options worth exploring for this display. Thanks again!

@alli.kellner

I can think of several ways to accomplish that.

You could create an automated update notice in the card's description with the help of the Butler Power-Up, creating a command like:

When a comment is posted to a card, set the card's description to "Last updated: {date}, {time} by {username}."

You could probably also set up a nice custom field's workflow if you wanted to see this updated notice on the front of the card. But this would require to enable both the Custom Fields and the Butler Power-Up on the board.
