The Big Picture: For years, we were taught to spot phishing by looking for bad grammar or weird formatting. But with AI, attackers now generate perfectly written, highly personalized messages at scale. We can no longer rely on an email "looking" fake.
Why it matters: Cyber resilience in the AI era requires Zero Trust in the context of a request, not just the appearance. If the "voice" sounds right but the "ask" is unusual, it’s likely a trap.
3 AI-Era habits to adopt:
Context over Content: Don’t ask "Does this look right?" Ask "Does it make sense for this person to ask me for this right now?"
The "Slow Down" Rule: Most AI-driven attacks rely on urgency. Taking 5 seconds to verify a request via a separate Slack message can save your data.
Verify "Out-of-Band": If an executive or colleague makes an unusual request, confirm it through a different channel (call or Slack) before clicking.
