Hi, I had this error a few weeks ago and I tried everything I know:
- Uninstall and install
- Shift + Move
- ctrl + tab -> move
- windows + arrows

I recorded a Loom with some tries to recover visibility (Spanish SO, but it is understandable).

Is this a Sourcetree bug or a Windows bug?

Regards,

Hmm... Might be a mix of both - Windows and Sourcetree @Uriel Gonzalez ðŸ‘€

Maybe try this:

  1. Close Sourcetree completely.

  2. Press "Win + R" and paste:
    %localappdata%\Atlassian\Sourcetree

  3. Delete or rename the file: "user.config" (or the entire folder if you want a clean reset)

  4. Start Sourcetree again > it should recreate defaults, and the window should appear centered.

Note: You’ll lose some UI preferences, but repositories remain safe. Fyi, I've found this info, haven't tested it myself.

I had a similar experience with some other app and not Sourcetree, but in my case, I believe Shift + Move did work.

Cheers,
Tobi

Thanks Tomislav!

Looks like the path "%localappdata%\Atlassian\Sourcetree" per-se does not have that file

userconfig.png

But googling a bit I found out that there should be some other folder(s) under

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree.exe_<random_string>\<version_number>\

Found them and deleted the user.config file inside the most recent one:

sourcetree.png

Reopened aaaaand didn`t work.

Tried again removing every user.config file inside every folder aaaand. It worked!

Thanks, I hope the try-and-fail narration helps someone else someday.
