Hello,
We are currently evaluating different git GUI clients for use in our studio. And there is one part of the UX that keeps tripping the team up.
Currently if we create a branch from master, in the graph it appears as a chain.
Only after a commit has been made to the original branch, will the new branch show as being forked.
I can understand why it is showing like a chain, however to many members of staff this is not intuitive at all. It showing as a chain, rather than forking as soon as a new branch causes users to struggle when reading the UI, to find a specific branch.
Is it possible to alter this behaviour in source tree, in some preferences or something?
If such an option is not possible, I would like to propose a suggestion to add that option, or at the very least change the colour of the node for the newly created branch:
It seems like this is something (new)users have been struggling with for over 5 years:

Thanks in advance,
David
