I've followed the instructions here: https://support.atlassian.com/bitbucket-cloud/docs/app-passwords/ and 1) Created and app password and 2) Added the password to sourcetree per the instructions. I'm on windows 10 Pro
When I fetch I get the following:
git -c diff.mnemonicprefix=false -c core.quotepath=false --no-optional-locks fetch --no-tags origin
remote: Bitbucket Cloud recently stopped supporting account passwords for Git authentication.
remote: See our community post for more details: https://atlassian.community/t5/x/x/ba-p/1948231
remote: App passwords are recommended for most use cases and can be created in your Personal settings:
remote: https://bitbucket.org/account/settings/app-passwords/
fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://bitbucket.org/PaladinEng/workspace_1.3.0.git/'
I've found a solution. It is not enough to uninstall Sourcetree. You must
1) Uninstall Sourcetree
2) Delete these 2 folder:
- C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Atlassian\
- C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Atlassian\
3) Reinstall Sourcetree
And then you should be able to pull/push/fetch
