Hi I want to delete a mandatory field "Name" in a issue type "Task" from my Jira

Hi,

I want to delete a mandatory field "Name" in a issue type "Task" from my Jira (field configuration) as i have "summary" a mandatory field and i want to keep "summary" only as my mandatory field and do not want "Name".

What will be its impact on existing issue type "Task"?

Go to the field configuration for the project and issue type Task and change the "mandatory" flag on this "name" field to optional.

It will not affect existing data - the flag is only checked when creating or updating issues.
