Hi there
We're large social profit in community work but with a small team and on Trello Premium for over a decade. Just recently I've decided to test the waters with a (free, for now) Confluence setup.
I'm really liking it, is all I can say for the moment, and it's even helped me beyond Trello assignments, due dates, checklists etc. Confluence is way more meta-work for me now than Trello. So cool.
I'm posting here, because I don't seem to able to join the Confluence support community for some reason? How do I get in there? Maybe it's restricted to paid plans or something?
And yeah, finally the title question: I'm not seeing that new Live Docs feature yet--I just started hearing about that the last week or so.
But I've seen a lot of info come by, like "rolled out by mid August" but also "only for new spaces" and so on. Or maybe that's seen delays, or it's only for paid plans?
Oh, update: I'm aware I have to turn the feature on, but it's not there either, is what I mean.
Anyway, okay, thanks. Eager to learn more here and maybe sometime I can help out like I can on Trello. Cheers!
Thanks; I'm just trying things out, but will keep an eye on.
You are correct that the ability to open a ticket with Atlassian Support is only available for paid plans.
That wasn't quite the question (how to submit a ticket) rather than how to join the community.
Now, if one can't join the community on a free plan, then I'm wondering how that fits in with free plans "not having direct support" but being dependent "on Support from Atlassian Community"?
Or does that imply just the resource and documentation pages and searching the forums?
But I'm seeing tons of free Trello users over on that forum...
I don't know, we've been on paid Trello for over a decade, so I'm new to this free thing.
@NHMG Do you mean this Atlassian community of users helping each other?
In my response to your question, I didn't say "welcome to the Atlassian community" because the badge next to your name says Rising Star, rather than I'm New Here, which means that you are already a member and have participated in the community enough times to get to Rising Star.
To learn more about the community, you can select Community at the top of this page. I might also suggest joining/looking at the posts in these groups to learn more about participating the community:
Sorry if I wasn't clear, put too many subjects in one post at that.
No, I meant this one: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Confluence/ct-p/confluence ---"Confluence"
Not the one we're on now, https://community.atlassian.com/forums/New-to-Confluence/gh-p/newtoconfluence ---"New to Confluence"
I'm indeed not new to Trello, which is why I've interacted there quite a bit over the beta period and beyond.
But the original question was: I can ask a question on the Trello forum, I can ask a question here, but I don't see that option on the regular Confluence forum.
(That felt odd, because over at pricing etc. it literally says Free plans have no support except at the "community" so I assumed that means at the Confluence forum. Nevermind.)
I initially wanted to put my Live Docs question there, assuming it was a technical subject, rather than just an "Hello I'm New" thing.
I'll figure things out; if live docs appear that's good, meanwhile I'm still setting up shop and if at some point we do upgrade, I'll see what happens and I'll look around at the links you provided.
Cheers!
@NHMG When you go to the page of your first link (), do you not see the Ask a question button at the top of the page?
I see this on this page whether I'm logged on to my Atlassian account or not. (Just don't see my Kudos if I'm logged off.)
Ha!
Was trying to recreate all possible situations for screenshots, and what did I notice?
I had Chrome set at zoom (125%) which makes the "Ask a question" button disappear.
Had also been relying on the Trello example where the intro text also has "Ask a question" inline.
How silly of me, sorry.
But: it's perhaps worth investigating, because zoom in Firefox does not have this issue. Peculiar.
And here I was using Chrome for all work stuff because it felt more reliable. You can be pretty savvy online and yet there's always gonna be something that escapes your attention.
So, all solved. Thanks for all your time and effort and apologies!!!
