Rollout timeframe?

When is this new navigation UI planned on being rolled out? I know Atlassian isn't keen on giving exact dates, but are we talking a month, 6 months, a year?

I'm planning to utilize the chrome extension to get acquainted with the look and feel of the new UI so I can be ready for the inevitable avalanche of questions from my user base once this rolls out, however, reviewing the FAQs, bugs, and identified issues article, it's seeming like a lot of navigation ability is missing. I want to be sure I have a thorough understanding of where things will be located in the new UI before I start getting questioned on it.

Same interest here, I likely need to prepare referesher trainings for the less tech savvy business users in advance, so a ballbark release date would be good to know.

We’re currently exploring the feasibility of the new navigation, and the Chrome extension helped us understand user behaviour and preferences. Based on the feedback and insights we’ve got from this experiment, we’re launching an Early Access Program (EAP) in October 2024 . You could opt-in and test the updated experience in your instance. 

We’ll share more details on the timelines when we’re ready and closer to rollout.

@arajah, thanks for the follow up. Are the UI changes just dealing with navigation or will the configuration menus be getting updated as well? By this I'm referring to the Issues setting area.

@Gary Spross We will be updating the navigation for Project settings as well as a part of this change. Please share a screenshot of the specific setting you are asking about, if this doesn't help. Thanks!

I'm referring to areas such as the "Issues" settings. Wondering if more consistency will be added to these screens.

Example of inconsistencies/incorrect placement (in my opinion):

• Actions
  • Most places have ellipses you click to see actions
  • Other places the actions are listed without the ellipses
• Inactive Vs Active
  • Workflows: Tabs
  • Workflow Schemes: Collapsible headers
  • Other sections don't include a differentiation, making maintenance inefficient
• Atlassian Defaults
  • i.e. Workflows, Permission Schemes, etc.
  • Maybe put these undeletable configurations in a highlighted area
• Sub-tasks
  • Could be a tab within the "Issue types" menu
  • Or maybe not even necessary since these issue types are already included in the "Issue types" menu
    • Disabling of Sub-tasks should exist within the "Products" settings
• New issue search transition
  • Should exist within the "Products" settings
