Workflow automation

Question

I'm creating a new workflow and would like to automate a portion. If an improvement status is 4. Accepted but not likely or 5. Will not do and a user checks the Additional request for JPD Improvement checkbox then I'd like for the user to add a comment (giving additional details regarding the additional request) and the the Status change to 6. Scoring Needs Review.  
I understand that I can set an automation once the issue is created but is there a way to automate this within the workflow using rules or properties?

Hey Kim,

When I understood you right, you want to transition the issue and comment on the issue once the checkbox was ticked, right? In that case you could choose the "Field value changed"-trigger. You should be able to choose the checkbox as a field although its name is quite a mouth full.

Imho it is not really straight forward adding this behavior to the workflow (maybe you can check pre- and postfunctions for that matter).
However, the trigger discribed above should do the trick.
