How can I use Confluence to track grades and scores for student projects?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to set up a system in Confluence to help students track their project scores and overall grades. Ideally, I’d like it to:

  • Automatically calculate totals or averages
  • Show each student’s progress in a table format
  • Be easy to update as new assignments are graded

I came across this simple calculator tool that helps with basic score calculations:

Has anyone tried something similar in Confluence? Any tips or best practices for keeping it organized and easy to use for multiple students?

Thanks!

Hi @mr john ,

Have you tried using Confluence Databases for this specific use case? Databases do support sum, average, mix, max... calculations for each column.

It might be lacking some options (there's this feature request, for example), but it might be worth exploring it as it's something that comes out of the box.
As for alternatives, I guess it would be something from the Marketplace, but I haven't built anything like that directly in Confluence 👀

Btw, if you manage to build this in databases, it would be cool to see the end result.

Cheers,
Tobi
