Create Jira issues from Action Item Checkbox

I want to capture and track meeting action items with Jira issues.

Currently, I create Action Items with checkboxes on a Confluence page from meeting minutes.

I want to turn those action items into Jira issues. I want the ticket to capture the AI output, the assignee, a link to the Jira issue if it's mentioned in the AI, and a link to the Confluence page where it was created.

With Confluence Premium, you can auto-generate issues from action items (including checkboxes) using Atlassian Rovo AI -> which scans for tasks and pulls in context like assignees (@mentions) and page links. You can refer this article.

A. Rovo AI Bulk creation from checkboxes

• Format your checkboxes in a table (e.g., columns: Action Item, Assignee, Due Date) on the meeting minutes page -> use @mentions for assignees.
• Publish the page > Click "Ask Rovo" (top-right) > Select "Create Jira work items" > Choose "Scan for actionable items."
• Rovo identifies unchecked checkboxes as tasks, generates summaries/descriptions from the text, pre-fills assignees, and adds links: Confluence page URL + any mentioned Jira keys.
• Review/edit the batch (project, type, etc.) > Create. Issues appear inline on the page with live links back to Jira.

B. Single Issue from Checkbox

• Edit page -> Highlight the checkbox text (e.g., "@Assignee: Fix bug X [ ]") -> Click the blue "+" (Create Jira issue) in the toolbar.
• Select project/type > AI auto-fills summary/description from highlight + surrounding context; add assignee if not pulled.
• Create—Jira issue embeds on the page with bidirectional links (Confluence page in issue description).
