I have a scrum board, we are running 2 week sprints. When I navigate to the Backlog area in my Jira board, you can see current and future sprints and the over all backlog for my project.
The question I have is if there's a way to sort the backlog without creating any filters or other special conditions. If I have a backlog of around 100 tickets and I would like to group them by status or by epic, is that something I can do?
It can be done with the current sprint while in the backlog view, where you can "reorder items work items" and it will sort them by various fields.
Hi @Camilo Gutierrez -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
You cannot reorder them without changing the board filter.
You can filter them, depending upon your project type...
Kind regards,
Bill
Hi @Camilo Gutierrez
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
In Jira’s Backlog view, you unfortunately can’t directly sort or group issues (e.g., by Status, Epic, or Assignee) without using filters, queries (JQL). Jira’s backlog is primarily designed for manual prioritization (drag-and-drop ordering).
As @Bill Sheboymentioned, you can use a filter for selecting status or Epics.
And use Quick Filters for your custom searches.
