Populate Form Multi-select with Service Management Assets

Ben Reinhardt January 23, 2023

Hello,

I am wondering if its possible to have a multi-select field in a jira service desk form that is populated by assets from the service desk asset management?

For example, if I were tracking our "tools" as assets in service desk and I wanted to create a form for requesting access to a "tool" could I populate a list of tools from the assets managed in service desk?

Hi @Ben Reinhardt

Yes this is possible.

Setup a custom field with type Asset Objects. Configure context to point to the object schema you require and use further filters if you require.

Note that the field will always show the Label attribute however you can add further detail by selecting more attributes in "Object attributes to display on issue view" and set Field to store multiple objects to Yes.
