Filtering issue - JSM Tickets by Organization

kobi shaked March 10, 2025

Hi everyone,

We would be very appreciated any guidance on how to achieve the following issue.
We have a service project in jira (JSM) and we created a board to display all support requests from our customers in a centralized view.
Each ticket is associated with an organization, which represents the client's name.
The issue is that, in order to filter tickets by organization, we currently need to manually add each new customer as a Quick Filter (image). This is not a convenient process for every new organization.
We also couldn't find any relevant default filters (as we thought it should be default..) in the board (image).
After researching online and in the community, we couldn't find a solution that would automatically create a filter for new organizations. Ideally, we would like to have a filter and display tickets based on the organization without manual intervention.
Thank you!

Hello @kobi shaked

There are no images included with your post.

This question appears to be related to your previous question:

https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Jira-Service-Management/Add-filter-based-on-organization-field-in-a-JSM-project/qaq-p/2923068

There is not a native, pre-built solution that creates a board filter automatically based on the Organizations field.

I investigated if it could be done with Automation Rules, but there is not a trigger for Organization Created.

I was going to suggest an Automation Rule with a Manual trigger that then uses the REST API to create the Organization, and uses the REST API to create a Quick Filter for the Organization, but it does not appear that the API supports creating Quick Filters.

At this point I think you next option is to check the Atlassian Marketplace to see if you can find a third party app that can help you get what you want.
