Hi, I'm trying to set a default Assignee for this issue type, but the Assignee field is not an option to select from - at least under the Request form tab. Under the Issue view tab, the Assignee field is an option, but it doesn't let me select a user to be the default Assignee.
I'm fairly new to Jira so I may just not be understanding how issues work on this platform. I've done some research, but I've been unable to find anything related to this particular issue I'm having.

The field Assignee can be use only hidden on the request type.
This field can be updated by an Agent later or let it unassigned.
I'm sorry - I'm not understanding. Are you able to provide further clarification please? If no Assignee is assigned here, the tickets go Unassigned. I'd like to set it so that an individual is automatically assigned such as the one seen below.

If you need to auto set a person for all the Request type that will be raised you can just input his name here and select it. Just keep in mind that the person should be defined in the Project: People and Access list as user with role= Service Desk Team

The screenshot I just sent was an example where the Default assignee IS an option. Please refer to the screenshots in my original post where it is NOT an option and I'd like it to be. I hope my message is clear.

Then please go to the Project settings: Fields scheme-> Edit-> search for Assignee and click on Show
