Hello Community members,

Can you please suggest if I uninstall the Tempo Timesheet app from Jira, will that delete the work logs from Jira?

Hi @Shabaz

As you can see in the official Tempo documentation, the Work Log is synced between Tempo and Jira. -> Syncing Data Between Jira and Tempo

When you log time in Tempo that data is first stored in their servers and then they sync the equivalent Jira field.

When you delete Tempo, the data in their servers won't be viewable from your instance, though the data stored in the Out of the Box Time Tracking field will remain.

Hope that helps!

I am seeing tempo timesheets in Jira Assistant even after uninstalling Tempo, and the individual logs are not reflecting, they are reflecting in tempo timesheets

how to get the logs of individual users

please suggest,

Thanks,

Hi,

Worklog will not be deleted, but you will lose worklog author (They will be all displayed as tempo timesheet), work description fields of the worklogs. Because Tempo stores placeholder data in Jira and stores the actual information in their own database.
We have faced this problem when our customers migrated from Tempo to WorklogPRO. We have prepared a script that reads some information from Tempo API and fixes the records in Jira. You can access the script here, but it is tailored to Migration from Tempo to WorklogPRO. If you want it to recover only worklog author and work description, you may need to cleanup the script a little.

Hi Deniz,

Unfortunately, we are also uninstalling tempo soon in our instance and we are going to be using the native Jira work log. Do you think there is a script for that?

Thanks

Hi Ismail,

The script I had shared can be easily changed to fix "time spent" and "comment" fields. But changing worklog author is more difficult. Because Jira doesn't have any API to change author of a worklog. You have to delete the existing worklog and create a new worklog with new information. This will cause worklog ID and "date created" fields to change at least. Our script doesn't delete the worklog, it just adds extra information to the worklog and WorklogPRO itself knows to display this extra information at runtime.
