So I was thinking about this the other day — when a product goes wrong, what’s actually tougher to fix: UI mistakes or UX mistakes? 🤔
From my experience, both have their own challenges:
UI mistakes (like messy layouts, inconsistent colours, or confusing buttons)
👉 Usually visible right away.
👉 Can sometimes be fixed with quick design tweaks.
👉 But if branding is already tied to it, changes can be tricky.
UX mistakes (like poor navigation flow, frustrating onboarding, or features no one understands)
👉 Not always obvious at first.
👉 Take longer to uncover because they affect the overall journey.
👉 Often need deeper research, testing, and rethinking the entire design logic.
Personally, I feel UX mistakes hit harder because they go beyond visuals and affect how users feel about the product. But then again, a badly done UI can instantly push someone away too.
💬 What do you guys think? Have you ever dealt with a project where fixing UI was easy but UX was a nightmare (or the other way around)?
