Trying to automate JPD's date field into a custom number field (days to due date)

Joel Tan June 29, 2025

Hello, given JPD's date format is in string format and doesn't work in JQL sorting etc, I'm using an automation to create a 'days to due date' field so that I can use this within my JQL exports/automations..

However, I'm currently getting this error when the automation runs. I've already made sure the field is added in my JPD, as well as the default JPD create issue screen. Unfortunately still doesn't work. Some help please?

Edited work item successfully, however some of the set fields aren't available. Fields ignored:
days to Due Date (customfield_10626)

Hello @Joel Tan

There's a known issue with JPD automation where the Automation for Jira service account doesn't have the proper permissions to perform actions in JPD project and I suspect that's what's happening here.

If you have the Automation for Jira account used as your automation actor, could you try to change it to your own account for example, and see if the automation still fails with the same error?

If it works this way, don't hesitate to reach out to Atlassian support at http://support.atlassian.com/contact so we can have a closer look at it!

Cheers,
