Transfer the content from one field to another

Hi everyone.

I need to transfer the content from one field to another. There are about 200 records. Is there an easy way to do this in Jira? Could someone give me a tip?

Thanks

I think I would export the data and then reimport the data since then I have full control over the import process. https://support.atlassian.com/jira-product-discovery/docs/export-jira-product-discovery-data-to-excel-and-gsheets/

Alternatively, you could create an automation that runs one time. Something like this where the trigger is scheduled (one time or continuing, whatever you choose)...IF whatever field it is you want to copy has XXX in it....THEN add XXX to the other field. You could also use some of the smartvalues to make this more complex like copying over the other field to the new one if they aren't all the same.

Hopefully this makes sense! :)

Here are 2 ways to do it directly in the UI:

If you want to copy values between 2 fields in the same project (for example to move from a select field to a multi-select field) , you can use the "bulk edit" functionality in list views:
Demo: copy field values using bulk-edit.

If you are using a Project Field in a project and you would like to use a Global Fields instead: you can use the “Copy Values” feature which helps you copy field values for all Ideas in a project from a Project Field to a Global Field.
More info and demo for Copy Values here. And the documentation.
