Rating fields not visible to Contributors in Idea detail view

Hi everyone,
we are experiencing an issue in Jira Product Discovery where Contributors cannot see specific fields (Rating fields) in the Idea detail view, even though:

• The fields are global space fields, not private

• The fields are added to the views used in the project

• The fields are visible in “Create Idea” forms

• The fields are visible to Creators and Administrators

• Contributors can comment on ideas and otherwise access them normally

• The fields appear in table/list views, but not inside the idea detail panel (afaik used for the create form for contributors)

• When previewing the (create form) view as Contributor, the fields do appear — but in real use for actual Contributors, they disappear again

Our use case: contributors should set some basic ratings (1-5) fields, when creating a new idea.
Is this a known bug or am I missing something?

Without changing anything this is now resolved somehow. Contributors can see the fields now - I don't know how & why, but my question is now obsolete.

I’m not 100% sure, but my educated guess is that Contributors don’t see rating fields in the idea detail view because Jira Product Discovery’s detail panel only shows a simplified set of fields for that role (summary, description, comments, insights, votes). Contributors use the “Create idea” view when submitting, but after creation, the detail panel defaults to a layout optimized for Creators, and Atlassian doesn’t currently allow customizing it per role. This behavior appears to be by design, not a bug.

In the links it states that Contributors

"They can see all views in the project in Jira Product Discovery but can only perform contributor actions (comment, vote, add insights, add reactions) and can submit ideas if a Creator allow it."

It does not guarantee they see every field in the idea detail panel, because that panel is not technically a “view” in the same sense, it’s a fixed layout optimized for Creators.
