JPD Issue View – Comments and Description Visibility

We’ve received significant user frustration following the new tabbed issue view rollout in JPD.

Previously, users could see an idea’s Description while writing a comment. Now that Comments live in a separate tab, it’s no longer possible to reference the Description while drafting. Switching tabs also risks losing unsaved comments.

For a discovery-focused product, this feels like a regression in usability and has created real workflow friction for our teams.

Is there a plan to restore simultaneous visibility (e.g., split view) or enable persistent comment drafts when switching tabs?

This change has had a noticeable impact on collaboration and user sentiment. Would appreciate any insight on planned improvements.

You’re absolutely right: we recently changed the behavior in the full view. After reviewing your feedback and discussing it with the team, we’ve decided to revert this change and take another look at the overall experience to ensure it works better for you.

Thank you and the team for the responsiveness in rolling back this change!  This behavior is exactly what is needed to help manage the impact of rapid changes in the Atlassian tools sometimes causing more harm than the intended benefit to customers.
