Could you provide a bit more context to your question? I think you are asking about how you can link a Jira Product Discovery idea as a parent to a Jira project, if that is correct?

If so and if I understand the terminology you are referring to correctly, the technical answer is: you can't. A Jira project (to be renamed to a space later this year) is a container of work items and you can't add a parent to that. If you have defined a work type called project, however, and are on a premium plan of Jira, then you could design the work type hierarchy as such that you could map Idea to the level above Project. See this support article to learn more about what I am referring to.

The general practice, though, would be to link Epics to your ideas as delivery items, right from within the delivery view of your JPD project. In that approach, Epics represent your project delivery work and connecting those would give you the best way to track progress from idea to delivery. You can link multiple epics to a single idea, if your project consists of multiple epics.
