Hierarchy in timeline view

Hello everyone!

I am now exploring timeline view and I wonder if there already exist a solution for visualising the following scenario:

We have 5 main goals that will be working on in the next year. Each of them will have several milestones/iterations. And there are several tasks that already are attached to these goals and - which is important - we will identify more tasks as we progress. So e don't have a full overview of all tasks, but know some. I would like to be able to show a timeline that will show both the goals (with their start and finish dates) and the tasks grouped under each goal. Is it possible using the current functionality? Or if not, what is the closest setup that is possible?

Thanks!

Hi @Tatiana Torset ,

We're currently exploring something like this, so you can do exactly what you're asking for:

For the moment, your options, as far as I know are:

1. Group by goals, and filter to only show the tasks (meaning: you can't see start/end dates for the goals on the view per se, but you can see all the tasks)

2. Only show the goals, and show the tasks but not their start/end dates. something like this:

This is a good question. +1 for more knowledge on how to make this possible in JPD.
