3 JPD Space templates - how does a Product team use all of them together?

Is work intended to flow from one space to the next?  Before these templates were introduced, the recommendation was to use Views in 1 JPD space for different audiences or purposes.  Is there more information available on the workflow through these spaces?  I don't understand how the work would be easily tracked from idea to delivery if it's moving from one space to the next.

Great question! Happy to clarify how Spaces and the new Space Templates are intended to work in Jira Product Discovery.

Are Spaces meant to represent a workflow?

No, work is not designed to flow from one Space to another.
Spaces aren’t workflow stages, and we don’t recommend moving ideas across Spaces as they progress.

So what are Space Templates for?

Space templates are designed to help teams quickly set up a JPD Space based on common use cases. They provide structure, best-practice fields, and example views so teams can ramp up quickly and start organizing their ideas in a way that fits their context.

Think of templates as starter kits that give teams a strong foundation, not steps in a process to flow between spaces.

How should teams manage ideas from discovery → delivery?

We still recommend using one Space per team and using Views to tailor the same set of ideas to different audiences (leadership, engineering, design, etc.).

How to aggregate work across Spaces?

For larger product organizations, we recommend using Roadmaps.
Roadmaps allow product leadership to:

• Aggregate initiatives across multiple JPD Spaces and Jira projects

• Visualize work from several product teams in a single, unified view

• Understand dependencies and sequencing

• Communicate strategy and progress at a higher level
