We’re excited to announce the first milestone of our journey to deliver more granular admin permissions while creating custom roles in Jira Product Discovery. This update is a direct response to feedback from our enterprise customers and admins who need greater control and flexibility when managing projects at scale.
As Jira Product Discovery adoption grows within larger organizations, we’ve heard that the current “all-or-nothing” admin role can be limiting. Admins often face a tough choice: either lock down admin rights (and become a bottleneck for every change) or delegate full admin access (and risk unwanted changes to workflows, fields, or project settings).
With more granular permissions, we’re aiming to:
In this first milestone, we’re introducing the ability to separate some key admin actions. While not every permission is split out yet, you’ll now see options to delegate responsibilities such as:
