Do I need to upgrade Fisheye/Crucible and svn?

We are using fisheye/crucible 4.8.10 AND using svn.
I see it is going EOL on dec 5, 2023.
However, I also see a note stating that it is going into basic maintenance mode.

There is confusion on our end whether or not we (1) need to upgrade/find a replacement to fisheye/crucible due to this EOL date and (2) will be required to find an alternative to svn like git due tot his EOL date.

The December 5, 2023 date marked the end of support for your specific 4.8.x version under the version support policy. It is not the end of the product. Fisheye and Crucible entered basic maintenance mode in 2020, which means no new features but continued security and bug-fix releases. So you did not need to find a replacement because of that date. To stay on a supported version, I would simply upgrade to the latest Fisheye and Crucible release.

On SVN, nothing in this changes your repository choice. Fisheye and Crucible still support SVN as a source type, so you are not forced onto Git.

One heads up since this thread was posted. Atlassian has now set firmer dates. New sales stopped on 13 May 2025, and support and maintenance for Fisheye and Crucible ends on 15 May 2028. You have time, but there is now a real end date to plan a migration around.

Is this still something you are deciding on, or have you already moved forward?
