Hello, Atlassian Community!
We are excited to share that Jira Enterprise, Premium, and Standard plans now support up to 100,000 users on a single site—a monumental 2x increase in scale from our previous limit. By raising the user cap, we’re unlocking migrations for many of our largest Data Center customers and making it easier to expand Jira across the business. With more users collaborating in one place, teams can break down silos and better align to company-wide goals.
Key infrastructure optimizations
To ensure optimal performance and reliability for 100,000 users on a single Jira site, we upgraded the infrastructure to further minimize CPU load. These upgrades include:
Optimized resource usage: We have optimized the resources used by Jira Cloud, enabling it to deliver enhanced power and performance for users. Changes to the way Jira handles custom fields, better caching efficiency, and reductions in database usage have all contributed significantly to scalability and performance.
Enhanced JQL: We replaced four Jira Platform REST endpoints with newer, more efficient alternatives.
Expand Jira Cloud for the enterprise
This monumental increase in scale unlocks opportunity for a larger adoption of Jira Cloud by unblocking Data Center Migrations. Now, even more of our largest Data Center customers can migrate and enjoy exclusive Jira Cloud value, such as intelligent search, goals in Jira, and team-managed projects.
Additionally, cloud customers can onboard more users and teams into a single Jira site, making it easy for more of your organization to enjoy the benefits of simplified work. This empowers all your teams to work more efficiently using a scalable, unified Jira to strengthen collaboration, automate workflows, and enhance visibility across every department.
