We are using the Azure AD plugin for authentication to Confluence and Jira. Our onprem AD is fully integrated with our Azure AD and autosyncs. I've been trying to come up with a reason to keep using Crowd and I don't see it. I don't think the SSO ever worked in our setup (I didn't set it up). Do we still need Crowd?
Hey Ben,
Your summary doesn’t indicate whether you’re using AzureAD as the only source for all of your groups/memberships, but if not, it may be of value retaining Crowd for this purpose. While you can use Jira as the user source for Confluence, as a more lightweight product, we have had much better uptime with Crowd than Jira. We source some key (authentication) groups from Azure AD but most authorisation groups live in Crowd for all of our products.
