I have setup a new instance of Crowd. This is the first time I have worked with Crowd but I have setup other atlassian products. I am also running Jira and Confluence on the same server.
I have defined an AD directory instance. The proxy account is read-only, but I have enabled the "Manage groups locally" option. I am able to see AD users but I am unable to add then to local groups. I have tried editing a local group , clicking on "direct members-> add users" but I can not add any AD users. If I type in a user id, it doesn't let me add it and it doesn't show any possible patches.
I am also unable to login to crowd as an AD user, although I can login to confluence and jira with no problem.
I did add a confluence app to crowd, and there is an option to validate the creds of an AD user- and that did work.
