Online files editon is a major feature, why Atlassian comopanion was stopped?

Hi @admin good question, I guess it's because it needed to be installed locally and there's no real support for it.

There are smart links for a number of non-Atlassian products, but not for Microsoft Office.

Editing an uploaded Excel-sheet with versioning in Confluence is still so not-user-friendly.

Sure there is an alternative: You can use GoEdit for user-friendly editing of Microsoft Office documents in Confluence Cloud

Thanks for pointing out this app @André Ulrich . The Atlassian Companion was free though.
