I'm suddenly seeing references to "macros" in Confluence questions. Is there some kind of guide to macros?
They are control strings you insert into the body of a page, which then render something more clever than simple text when the page is refreshed. It could be as simple as a panel or a lozenge around a bit of text, all the way through to complex things like reading a list of issues from Jira and displaying them in place.
There are loads of them in Confluence, you can insert them from the formatting menu, or just type in a / and look through the auto-fill menu that pops out.
