site space to personal space

How do I turn a site space to a personal space?

I looked at https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/Change-site-space-to-personal-space/qaq-p/209720

but that was from 2013 and the directions are no longer valid

I'd suggest that the easiest way to achieve this would be:

1. Create the target space (the personal space)
2. Move the home page of the source space to the target space
   • This will also move all the children of the page to the new space
3. Manually copy the permissions from the source space to the target space
4. Update any look and feel, theme etc on the target space to match the source space

The ability to convert a space to a personal space was removed, there are a couple of requests to add it back in:

You can vote on the Cloud issue if you want, the more interest it gathers the more likely it is to get implemented. Note however that the server version of the request has already been closed due to limited interest, so I would be surprised if we saw this added back any time soon, if at all.
