"Visible only to me" set as a default option

Hi,

We want to change the default security model for creating a space to "Visible only to me" i.e. the tick box selected. Has anyone figured out how to do this?

We user the on-prem version of Confluence, v6.9

Hi there,

My recommendation here would be to go to Settings > General Configuration > Space Permissions (under Users & Security) and remove the default group there, like this:

Then, when you create new spaces, the permissions will look like this: 

You can see here that I am the only user who has access to the space.

The checkbox won't automatically be selected, but this workaround does essentially what you are requiring.
